Mission

To reduce the amount of waste going into landfills by educating the residents of Jackson County to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Funding

Revenue is collected at the rate of $1.00 per ton of Municipal Waste accepted at the Rumpke Landfill in Medora. Direct payment is made from Rumpke to the Solid Waste District on a monthly basis.

Meetings

Meetings of the Board of Directors are held on the second Tuesday of the month (January, March, May, July, September and November) at 7:00 PM at the District office, 1220 Bloomington Road Brownstown, IN. All meetings are open to the public.
